Death has been unkind to the 10th Senate, Senate President Godswill Akpabio has said while mourning fallen lawmakers.

Akpabio expressed deep sadness over the number of deaths recorded in the 10th Senate. He described the past two years as painful for lawmakers.

He made the statement during a tribute session for the late Senator representing Enugu North Senatorial District, Okechukwu Ezea. The senator reportedly died in November 2025 after a brief illness.

Akpabio explained that the National Assembly has experienced repeated losses since the 10th Senate began in 2023. According to him, the development has left the Senate in mourning.
