The naira held steady against the dollar on Friday, October 16, 2026, as official and street rates barely moved. Meanwhile, Bitcoin hovered near $82,000 after a shaky week. This report lists the latest rates for the dollar, pound, euro and other major currencies, plus the top cryptocurrencies.
The Central Bank of Nigeria’s official rate stood at ₦1,331.61 per dollar on Friday morning, according to Aboki Forex. The platform also reported that the naira slipped to ₦1,332.97 in Thursday’s session, while interbank turnover jumped 157.1 percent. Therefore, the official market remains calm, and the rate continues to sit in a narrow band near ₦1,330.
On the street, Bureau de Change operators buy the dollar at ₦1,370 and sell it at ₦1,375. Consequently, the gap between the two markets is about ₦43 per dollar. Aboki Forex calls its figures “a reliable benchmark,” but it warns that rates differ by dealer and city. In addition, some trackers list higher selling rates, so confirm your price before you trade.
