All the 2017 Hajj Pilgrims from Osun State are to get richer with the sum N28,500 each as refund of services rendered them while they were at the Holy Land, Mecca.

The Osun State governor, Ogbeni Aregbesola approved this sum according to the board chairman of Osun State Hajj Commission, Barrister Zikrullah Olakunle Hassan while addressing journalists in Osogbo, Osun State capital.

He maintained that the decision to refund the money to the pilgrims was borne out of the priority the incumbent administration attached to transparency and probity.

Hassan explained that the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) met with Saudi authorities over services that were not provided during the 2017, stressing that “after receiving money from the service providers and after reconciliation of each state account, the commission paid the money into the account of the state’s board for refund to the affected pilgrims.”

He, however, commended the state governor for his prompt approval of the fund, which would be paid all the concerned 2017 pilgrims on Wednesday, 19th, 2017.
