Ekiti Fulani leader, Alhaji Ahmod dies

Alhaji Mahmud Ahmod, the leader of Fulani in Ilorin community of Ekiti State has died.

 Alhaji Ahmod was until his death, the Ojowuro Serikin Fulani of Ekiti land, according to the statement issued by the secretary to the group, Alhaji Sulaimon Abdulahi.

The statement said that the Serikin died last Thursday and has since been buried according to Islamic rites.

The statement further said that the late Fulani leader came to Ekiti from Ilorin, the Kwara State capital around September, 1993.

Late Ahmod was installed as the Ojowuro Sheriki Fulani of Ekiti land on September 9, 2009.

The deceased who died at the age of 102 was survived by four wives, many children and grand children. His eight day Fidau comes up in Ekiti this week (Thursday).
