#ENDSARS protests in the Osun State capital, Osogbo turned bloody on Saturday when hoodlums descended on Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and his convoy at the Alekuwodo end of popular Olaiya junction.
The incident, according to an eye witness occurred when the governor who was out of the state arrived at Olaiya junction to address the #ENDSARS protesters, it was while addressing the protesters that trouble started.
It was reported that some thugs attacked the protesters in the morning with dangerous weapons at the Olaiya Junction and got one of the protesters wounded.
Recalls that protest in Osun State have been hijacked by hoodlums led by Asiri Eniba.
After the failed attempt by Oyetola to address the youths at the Alekuwodo axis of the road, he joined the protesters to trek to Olaiya junction to enable him address the youths.
According to an eyewitness, as the governor was speaking, some people were demanding that the governor ensure that notorious leader of the hoodlums, Asiri Eniba is arrested as the chant of his (Asiri Eniba) rented the air.
“As the governor was speaking, protesters were demanding the arrest of Asiri Eniba. But suddenly, a voice from the back shouted Asiri is coming and that led to disruption of the whole speech.
The attack on the governor by some hoodlums who were seen pelting stones and dangerous weapons towards the governor and his convoy made him to scamper for safety by hurriedly leaving the scene.
According to the source; “two persons were killed and many others who sustained severe injuries have been taken to the hospital. Even in the governor’s convoy, many were injured.
The governor’s official cars were damaged by the hoodlums.
