Emmanuel Uduaghan reportedly dies at 71, according to media reports published on Monday. The former Delta State governor led the state for two terms, from 2007 to 2015.

THEWILL first reported the news and said Uduaghan died on Monday. Sahara Reporters later carried the same report. However, his family, his aides and the Delta State Government have not yet issued an official statement, so the claim remains unconfirmed.

Uduaghan governed Delta State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party. Before he entered politics at the top level, he worked as a medical doctor. He later served as Commissioner for Health and then as Secretary to the State Government under former Governor James Ibori.

Supporters knew him as the “Talk and Do Governor,” a title that reflected their view that he turned promises into projects. As a result, his name remains closely tied to the political history of Delta State.

Notably, a similar death claim spread online in June 2026. At that time, his family and media aides dismissed the report and said he was recuperating after a period of illness. Therefore, readers should wait for an official confirmation before sharing the news further.

Sojworldnews will update this report as soon as the family or the Delta State Government releases a statement.
