The regular empowerment programmes that is usually done fortnightly by Hon. Rotimi Makinde also happened again yesterday Saturday (19/5/”18) at his residence situated at Opposite Diganga Hotel, Ife-Ibadan road, Ile Ife.

The programme is tagged “Touching Life’s no matter how small it is”, with the prime motive of empowering at least 5 market women every two-two weeks which simply means that, in every month, at least 10 market women must be empowered with cash to assist them in their small scale businesses and to keep body & soul together.

This has been happening for several months ago and the number of attendance keep increasing at every fortnight meeting. This humanitarian gesture is not only commendable but also a way of getting more closer and identifying with the downtrodden/grassroots dwellers by feeling their pains directly and making attempt to alleviate their poverty status within his limited resources.

The attendance at the yesterday event was indeed beyond expectation as the numbers was close to 1000 market women/men and nobody goes home without cash.

Rains of prayers and appreciation were showered on Hon. Makinde for this life-touching initiative despite not in office at present. At that juncture, Hon. Makinde promised to take the program beyond party line which will be free for all in as much you reside in Ife.
