INSIDE LIFE: MAN narrates how he sold his car, property, took loan to free himself, kids from kidnappers (VIDEO)

Mr. Lukman Aliyu, a resident of Alagbado Community in Ilorin, Kwara State has narrated what he went through before he regained freedom in the hands of kidnappers that visited his house.

 

 

 

He shared his bitter experience with BBC News Yoruba that on the day kidnappers visited his house, property were destroyed, bullets penetrated through the wall of his house and windows were shattered.

 

 

Aliyu recounted that he shouted for help on the fateful day but no one could come to rescue his family due to the way the kidnappers were shooting.

Mr. Aliyu told BBC News Yoruba that kidnappers succeeded taking him and his two children to unknown location after his entrance door was cut from the lower part.

While speaking how he regained freedom and ransom paid, Mr. Aliyu said he sold his car for N1.8m, his friends raised N200,000 and used paper of his house as collateral to secure N3million loan.

He said his family was billed N20million ransom but after series of negotiation they collected N5million with drinks of different brands and recharge cards.

He added that it was the third time the kidnappers will come to their community. In one occasion, they killed the first born of the landlord and still collected N5 million ransom from the family.
