INSIDE LIFE: Man Suffering From Epilepsy Foams To Death While Driving In Osogbo (READ FULL DETAILS)

A Commercial minibus popularly known as “korope” driver in Osogbo, the state capital of Osun, passed away after allegedly having abrupt epileptic episodes while driving his vehicle.

According to Report, he was discovered dead inside his blue minibus, known as “Korope”, on Sunday 25, September 2022 around Oke-Fia area of Osogbo, in front of the Osun State Government House.

The driver was reportedly found dead by passerby, laying on the front seat of the car, with foam in his mouth and on the seat.

The motorist, whose identity was unknown, reportedly struggled to park next to the road before he foamed to death in his seat.

While on patrol in Osogbo at about 9:00 am, a squad of the Western Nigeria Security Network, code-named Operation Amotekun, saw the crowd that had gathered around the victim before the State Police Criminal Investigation Department was alerted to the site.

According to reports, the police cleaned the deceased’s body before transporting him to the mortuary of Osun State University Teaching Hospital in Osogbo.

The driver may have experienced unexpected epileptic convulsions while driving through the city, according to Yemisi Opalola, the public relations officer for the Osun State Police Command, who confirmed the incident.

Opalola said that the deceased’s family members had contacted the police and disclosed that the victim had epilepsy and that they had attempted to cure it, but to no avail.

SHE SAID,

“We found the man lying on passenger seat beside the driver’s seat. He might have stretched himself on the seat during the sudden seizures. We found foams in his mouth and on the seat which means that he might have foamed severally with no one to assist.

“The family members came to our command and said he had been battling epilepsy and that they had been finding solutions to it till the incident happened. They have accepted the death as the will of God and moved on.”

The driver’s remains have been placed in the UNIOSUN morgue, according to the PPRO.
