FORMER Vice Presidential Candidate in the 2019 general elections, Prof (Prince) Adesoji Masilo Adeleke has berated some political figures in the Southwest who reportedly endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in 2027 because he is a Yoruba man from the Southwest.

While speaking with SOJ WORLDWIDE Correspondent, the former National Publicity Secretary, United Democratic Party (UDP) and former Osun State Governorship Candidate in the 2022 Election said there is nothing bad in endorsing the President for a second term, but it is an aberration to endorse the President because he came from a section of the country.

Masilo added that endorsers should talk more about his achievements across the length and breadth of the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria than making it look like he is a sectional President.

Tinubu is a performer, no doubt, he is an achiever. He is the only Nigerian President since independence who prepared for governance and doing transformational works for the benefit of Nigerians and unborn generations“, he said.

If we go back to the memory lane, President Tinubu came in 2023 at the time when Nigerians were groaning in pains with a bleak future. He took a bold decision to remove the subsidy on fuel to stop corruption in the oil sector.

Tinubu has succeeded in unifying the Naira in the official and parallel markets against the United States Dollars, GBP, EURO and other foreign currencies with a little margins unlike before when corrupt Nigerians collude with the officials of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN to buy official rates and sell in it the black markets and become an overnight billionaires.”

Masilo said the President is gradually restructuring the country that only the discerning minds would understand. He has set up Development Commissions in the six geopolitical zones for Nigerians to feel the impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Those who are opposed to Tinubu’s administration are either in the opposition or those who have grudges to settle with him. Any lovers of progress in the country should not go against the reforms that is going on.  It is a fact that we are not where we are but the Tinubu administration has set Nigeria on the path of total recovery.

Everything will fall in line very soon with the present gradual reduction in fuel pump price and Naira stability to reduce the cost of living.”

“The President was able to manage Rivers State crisis without shedding blood but the oppositions are not happy with the restoration of peace in that state. Their case was like the Pharisees who were questioning Jesus Christ that he healed a man who had been sick for 38 years on a Sabbath day. Tinubu will succeed!”
