Nollywood actor Kunle Afod has cried out over the lack of emergency response after a serious accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State. In a video posted on Friday, November 6, 2026, Afod said accident victims lay on the road for about 20 minutes while no ambulance arrived. The Kunle Afod accident video has since drawn wide attention online.

Afod said he came upon the crash while travelling along the expressway. Lagos Reporters, which shared the clip on X, placed the scene at Shapade in Ogun State. In the video, he showed viewers the injured people lying helplessly on the road and pointed to a bus behind him. As a result, the clip gives a raw, real-time view of the aftermath.

“For about 20 minutes that we’ve been here, there is no ambulance, no emergency services to come and help them,” Afod said. He added that nobody in the state had come to rescue the victims. Moreover, his voice broke at several points as he described the scene.

Afod said he and others made repeated calls to emergency responders. Despite those efforts, he said, nobody arrived. He asked what was happening in the state and why help had not come. “Nobody’s even stopping to carry them,” he said, as he described motorists driving past the victims.

He then appealed directly to the public. Afod urged people nearby to come to the victims’ rescue right away. His plea reflects a frustration that many Nigerians share, because road crash victims often wait for long periods before help reaches them. Therefore, his video struck a chord with viewers who have seen similar scenes.

The footage raises hard questions about emergency response on one of Nigeria’s busiest roads. The Lagos-Ibadan Expressway carries heavy traffic between Lagos and several parts of the southwest, and crashes happen there often. Earlier reports on the corridor have shown that the Ogun State Ambulance Service evacuates victims after some accidents. Meanwhile, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) normally leads rescue and traffic management on the highway. Yet, in this case, Afod said neither service had arrived after 20 minutes.

Medical experts often stress that the first minutes after a crash can decide whether an injured person lives or dies. Quick first aid and fast transport to hospital reduce the risk of death and lasting harm. Consequently, a delay of even a few minutes can change the outcome for people with serious injuries.

Several important details remain unclear. Afod did not say how many people were hurt, how badly they were injured, or what caused the crash. Likewise, the video does not show which vehicles collided. Sojworldnews could not independently confirm these details, and officials had not commented in the reports reviewed at the time of writing.

Nigerians have reacted strongly to the clip. Many commenters want the Ogun State government and the FRSC to explain why help took so long. Others urge motorists to stop and assist crash victims whenever they can do so safely, instead of driving past. In addition, some say the state needs more ambulances stationed along major highways.

For now, the authorities have the chance to respond to Afod’s claims and clear up what happened at the scene. The public will want to know whether the victims eventually received help and what condition they are in. Sojworldnews will update this story as soon as more details emerge from Ogun State.
