OYETUNDE Kazim (38), a Plumber working in Hilton Hotels and Honours was the fourth defendant in the murder case of Timothy Oludare Adegoke between November 5, 2021.
The Hotel is owned by Dr. Rahman Adedoyin who is standing trial for the alleged murder of Timothy Adegoke along with six other suspects.
On the 5th day, he said he got to the office around 12 noon and he started his work as a plumber.
The Receptionist, Adedeji called me to come that we have guest that want to lodge so he went to meet her at the reception. She gave me keys to the rooms. He called the Cleaner to take the key and show the rooms to those that wants to occupy it and the cleaner took the Guest there.
The name of the cleaner is John.
Afterwards, the guest came back to the reception that it is transfer that will be done. The money was transfered to Adedeji Adesola’s account because they needed money to buy Diesel to the Generator.
I collected Adesola’s ATM in order to go and buy the Diesel. When he came back, he poured the diesel inside the Generator.
“Throughout the day, there was no problem till we closed for the day. Before they closed I informed Adesola that on Saturday, I wanted to travel to Ago before Ejigbo to see my Gradnma who came to take care of the new baby so I carried his gradnma back to Ago.”
“I returned to Ile-Ife that same Saturday. I went home when I got to ife because I was off duty that day. On Sunday which is on the 7th , I resumed back to work. I got to work at 12 in the afternoon, when I got to work, I met the Manager, Aderogba Adeniyi and he invited me.”
“He said there was a dead guest who lodged in room 305. I was afraid and I asked him if has informed the MD who is Mr Raheem that he is coming soon.”
“Not long after, Mr Raheem came, and he said that He and the Manager should go to the room, when they got there, Manager opened the door and they entered. He saw the person lying down on the bed. He saw the laptop that was on the Table and he saw a little packet of drug on the table and he saw half bottle of water on the Fridge and there was a phone beside him.”
“Raheem asked us to come out, he closed the door and went back to the reception. When they got to the reception, Raheem said he want to go and report at the Police Station that they should wait for him.”
“He came back at night after I have tried his number but when he came, I asked him why he came late and he said he went ro Police Station that’s why he came late.”
“He said he has reported to the Police and they instructed him to park the dead body to the mortuary and we followed him to go and carry the dead person.”
“The deceased covered himself with the bedsheets, he was lying-in down facing up and we used the cover cloth to wrap him and carry him. We put him inside the vehicle. The MD parked his laptop and phone inside the bag and put it inside the vehicle. And he instructed us to enter the vehicle, and they entered.”
“He drove the vehicle out, which is white Hilux. As we are going, when they got to campus gate, instead of going to the hospital road, he branched to Ede Road. I now told him that he is passing the wrong road, he did not say anything.”
“When we got to a place, he parked the vehicle, he got down and told us to stay inside the vehicle, he dumped the dead body beside the road. He told me to bring the bag and he dropped the bag and dead body beside it.”
He said he accused him why did he dump the dead body on the road?
“He now said it is because he is afraid of the police if he later take the dead body to the mortuary and we return back to the hotel but he returned back home.”
We were in the hotel till November 8, 2021 which was on Monday.
I was off duty on Monday and went to my house.
He was asked if he took any oath with anybody?
He said no.
Did he conspire with anybody to kill anybody.
No.
He said he was arrested on the 12th November 2021 and he said he wrote statement but it was written by the Police while he was interviewed in Yoruba.
He was cross examined to say his education qualification and he said he is an SSCE Holder.
We resumed 12 noon and close 12 midnight.
Three people are always on duty and he himself and Aderogba who is the Manger used to alternate it.
He said his duty as a plumber is to repair any plumbing work in the hotel and he serves as the Manager whenever the Manger is off Duty.
He said he collect 18,500 to buy Fuel. He said Mr Raheem opened the door.
He said he was suprised that the deceased phone was seen near Ejigbo.
