NYSC releases 1,800 Corps Members, one death recorded in Gombe

No fewer than 1,800 Batch B, Stream I corps members have completed the compulsory National Youth Service Corps in Gombe State with one asked to remain due to infractions and another one said to have died.

Disclosing this on Thursday, during the passing out ceremony of corps members, State Coordinator, Ada Imoni, advised the corps members to take advantage of the knowledge acquired through the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development as white-collar jobs were scarce.

Imoni said, “1,800, 2020 Batch B Stream I corps members passed out in Gombe State, one corps member had an extension of service and one died.”

Our correspondent reports that four corps members got state honours awards and 13 others letters of commendation for outstanding performances during the service year.

Imoni who monitored the exercise in three Local Governments Areas of Gombe, Kwami and Akko said skills, if put into good use, would give the corps members the leverage to face life after the service year.
