Och’Idoma urges Idoma chiefs to work in unity

The Och’Idoma Agabaidu, Dr John Elaigwu, has charged Ward and Sistrict Heads in Idomaland to work together as a team to enhance peace and unity in the area.

Agabaidu Elaigwu, gave the charge on Wednesday at his Palace in Otukpo, Benue State, while addressing ward heads from the nine Local Government Areas in Idomaland during a visit.

Dr Elaigwu, who urged them to respect district heads and other chiefs said: “Every traditional ruler in Idomaland has jurisdiction and should not go beyond it.”

A statement by the Och’Idoma Press Secretary, Peter Eluma said the paramount ruler gave approval and blessings to the ward heads to operate as a forum and strictly abide by its aims and objectives.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Ward Head  Forum, Chief Emmanuel Abounu, appealed to the Och’Idoma to approve and bless the forum of the ward head before they will start to operate.

Chief Abounu, said the forum is aimed at promoting peace, progress, unity and security in Idoma Kingdom and pledged their unalloyed support and loyalty to His Royal Majesty.
