The race towards 2018 gubernatorial election is at the front burner at the PDP Secretariat, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo with the former Deputy Governor in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore distributing food items to party members.
Senator Omisore declared that the crisis rocking the state wing of PDP will be resolved permanently before the end of January 2018.
He also hinted that a new set of leaders would be constituted to run the affairs of the opposition party before the end of January 2018.
He maintained that ward congress of the party had been concluded and that both local government and state congresses that will usher in new executives at local and state government levels of the party would be concluded latest by January 2018.

Flanked by the factional state chairman of the party, Dr. Bayo Faforiji and the South West Zonal secretary of the party, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo, the former governor said unity and cohesion among the party members were paramount to the electoral success of the PDP in 2018.
Omisore, who expressed his readiness and commitment to work with every member to move the party forward asserted that the common enemy “for PDP and Osun people is APC. We will get our acts together to face that monster and destroy it before it destroys Osun. I am not fighting with anyone in PDP. I am at peace with everyone and would continue to work for the collective interest of all and sundry, not only in the PDP but also in the entire state”
He stated, “After completing our congress in January, PDP will come under one umbrella and from that point, we will take off fully. Don’t fight anyone. Let’s preach the message of peace and face our common enemy, the APC.”

Commenting on the January 2018 local government elections, Omisore said the purported moves to organise the exercise were already facing many obstacles that may eventually prevent it from holding, stressing that “it is not even clear which is which. If we are in Osun State or the State of Osun, no one knows.
“Let the government resolve all the challenges it has created for the state before we can talk about any local government election. PDP is fully ready anytime to go to the poll, but when uncertainties surround a poll, no serious politician will be too interested in such an exercise.”
