Osun Police arrest three soldiers who storm police station to free suspected cultist, a colleague

The three soldiers who stormed a Police Station in Obelawo area of Osogbo in Osun Station to free a colleague suspected to be a colleague in police custody have been arrested.

The soldiers stormed the police station in an unruly manners to release one of their colleagues who was arrested along with others for allegedly involved in cultism.

Security report has it that, the Tactical Unit of Anti-Cultism set up by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Olawale Olokode called for the arrest the of the unruly soldiers.


Findings however, revealed that the soldiers-policemen face-off was as a result of an attempt by one soldier now in detention to get one of the suspected cultists that were arrested on bail in an unruly manner and he was rebuffed by the police.

The soldier unknown to the policemen had called on his colleagues who came to the station to forcefully release their colleague and cultists, but they were overpowered, arrested and taken to the State CID.

Confirmed the incident, she said that the soldiers came and behaved in an unruly manner, but were not successful. Three of the soldiers have been arrested and investigation is ongoing at the SCID.
