The Police/PCRC organised a send-forth ceremony held on Wednesday 26th October 2022 Adolak Event center, Gbongan /Ibadan road, Osogbo.
It was in honour of the outgoing Commissioner of Police, Osun State Command AIG Olawale Olokode who just received an Appointment as the Assistant Inspector General of Police AIG.
The Commissioner of Police in his speech appreciated the management team, staff of the police command as well as the Osun community for their dedication to duty during his administration.
He added that the power to be remembered for good lies in our individual hands.
While giving advise to his successor he said he should relate very well with the members of Osun Community.
Also speaking about the security situation of the state, he said he was inducted as the Commissioner of Police on the 20th of December 2022 and the security situation of Osun state was very poor. But presently the Case of Armed robbery, cultism, Ritualist, kidnappings has reduced.
He also appreciate the cordial relationship he had with the press despite their disagreement
He also appreciated all the security operatives in Osun state for coming to grace the occasion.
Also speaking about his challenges, he said the police force is in short of manpower and tools to work with but despite the challenges, the osun police are working effectively with what they have.
The Commissioner of Police in his speech appreciated all that were present for the ceremony and stated that the event calls for sober reflection in different ways.
He added that some were there to be celebrated while some were gone. He further added that those who however have the opportunity to be alive to witness this ceremony must reflect on what has been in the past and what they are going through now.
Olawale further stated that whatever they do will be recorded for or against them. He admonished all the staff and the security operatives that although no one is perfect, we must all strive for the best.
