The political tide in Obokun continues to shift as Hon. Sesan Kehinde Austin, fondly known as Agala, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ending decades of loyalty to the party since the inception of the Fourth Republic.
Agala, a former Secretary of Obokun East LCDA and a respected grassroots mobilizer in Ward 7, made his exit public in a letter circulated over the weekend.
In it, he cited his decision as an act of conscience and solidarity with federal lawmaker Hon. Wole Oke, whose growing influence continues to reshape the political landscape in Osun East.
“This is not a decision I made lightly,” Agala said. “I have stayed with the PDP through thick and thin, but it’s time to move forward with a leader who understands the people and fights for them. Hon. Wole Oke has my trust and support.”

His resignation is seen as another strategic blow to the PDP in Obokun, where internal discontent and shifting allegiances have become increasingly visible. Political observers believe Agala’s move will carry weight, especially among grassroots stakeholders who have long looked to him for direction.
The realignment further strengthens Wole Oke’s political machinery, as more seasoned party men rally behind his leadership, signaling what many now call a quiet revolution in Osun’s political terrain.
