Oyo APM Campaign Council Expands Committees Ahead of 2027 Polls
The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Oyo State has expanded its governorship campaign committees as it prepares for the 2027 general elections. The party’s Governorship Campaign Council added new members to its earlier list, and it created a new committee on community relations and voters’ education.
Director-General Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran announced the changes in a statement on Wednesday. He said the expansion would strengthen coordination, mobilisation and grassroots engagement. According to the statement, the move was “designed to enhance the effectiveness of the council’s operations” and to widen participation in the campaign structure.
Moreover, the council restructured its existing Mobilisation Committee. It divided the committee into six specialised subcommittees, and each one targets a specific group of voters. These subcommittees cover youth and women, workers and pensioners, religious groups, volunteers, ethnic groups, and traders and artisans. The council believes this split will improve coordination and deliver more effective results.
The council will also inaugurate the expanded committees formally. The statement scheduled the ceremony for Friday, October 30, at 3 p.m. at the Local Government Hall, Secretariat.
Several committees received new members. The Media and Publicity Committee welcomed Moses Olayinka Tella, Mariam Taofeek and Jadesola Ibitoye. Meanwhile, the Logistics and Transportation Committee added five members, including Akande Olabisi Ayinde, Hon. Joel Oyelami Oyeyemi, Hon. Oludayo Opatokun, Alhaji Kamoru Adayemi and Dr. Olawale Aremu.
Similarly, the Reconciliation and Contacts Committee gained four members. They include Alhaji Mufu Ogunremi, Hon. Adigun Tajudeen Adeniyi, Adesanya Bamidele Solomon and Oladepo Kazeem Adebowale. The Protocol and Accommodation Committee, in turn, named Maruf Balogun, Hon. Yusuf Adekunle, Hon. Gbadegesin Waheed, Hon. Ajala Abraham and Ajao Tolulope Deborah.
The remaining committees are smaller. Hon. Agbebi Olusola Peter, Azeez Fatai Adedapo and Ogunlola Muka Oladimeji will serve on the Venue and Stage Committee. Dr. Laolu Adepoju and Mrs. Dupe Temileyi will handle welfare and medical matters. Pastor Biodun Popoola will serve on the Security and Traffic Committee.
The new Community Relations and Voters’ Education Committee will work under Hon. Olufemi Josiah as chairman. Hon. Oladele Dauda Tokunbo, Hon. Folawiyo Monshood and Surv. (Chief) Olaide Tijani will join him as members.
Furthermore, the statement named coordinators for each Mobilisation subcommittee. Kazeem Olalekan Bello will coordinate the Youth and Women Contact Committee, and Mrs. Toyin Olaniran will serve as co-coordinator. Dr. Wasiu Olantubosun will lead the Workers and Pensioners’ Contact Committee. Rev. Olufemi Ibikunle, Alhaji AbulRasheed Azeez and Dr. Fayemi Fatunde will co-coordinate the Religious Contact Committee.
Alhaji Adebisi Rasheed will coordinate the Groups and Volunteers Support Committee. Tallest Innocent will head the Ethnic Group Committee, while Agba Akin Benedict Akika JP will coordinate the Traders and Artisans Support Committee.
Dr. Adeniran expressed confidence in the new arrangement. He said the additions and restructuring would “strengthen the council’s capacity” to engage communities, mobilise supporters, promote voter education and coordinate campaign activities across the state.
Finally, the council reaffirmed its commitment to building an effective campaign structure. It wants to reach communities across Oyo State, deepen stakeholder engagement and drive the party’s electoral objectives. The statement carries Dr. Adeniran’s signature and bears the date October 28, 2026.
