The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) agent representing Idanre Local Government, Mr Charles Adejuyile has lodged his complaint at the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) Akure Zonal Headquarters where the Ondo State governorship election results were being declared on Sunday morning.
The INEC Electoral Officer at the Local government has cancelled the results in three polling units with 6,069 votes as a result of mass violence.
Mr Charles Adejuyile confirmed that there was violence with guns and cutlass freely used. One of the PDP agents was severely injured to the extent that he was rejected at the hospital. Records were not properly documented, therefore, PDP members could not sign the Result Sheets because they were driven away.
Charles was advised to wait till when the final results will be declared. He had also complained that the number of votes cancelled was more than the difference between the APC PDP’s difference.
The election declared are as follows:
APC – 11,286
PDP – 7,499
ZLP – 3,623
