PROTESTS UPDATE (DAY 1): Curfew Declared In Three States, Lootings, Casualties Recorded (READ DETAILS)

THE first day of #EndBadGovernance Protests across the nation has recorded bad omen with lootings and casualties  while three states in the North have declared 24-hour curfew.

 

 

Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf declared a 24-hour curfew as the protests turned violent in the state with massive lootings.

 

He said,
After careful consideration, we have come to terms that 24 hours curfew should be put in place to further prevent looting and vandalisation of businesses and killing of innocent citizens.”

He further direct all Security agencies in the state to ensure full compliance with the directives to ensure restoration of peace in the state.

I am deeply dismayed by the actions of some individuals who have hijacked the ongoing protests in Kano State, resulting in the vandalism of public property.

“While I acknowledge the right of citizens to express their grievances, I strongly condemn the destructive behaviour of these disgruntled elements.

“To safeguard lives and property, I have decided to impose a 24-hour curfew, effective immediately.

“I have also directed security agencies to deal decisively with any person or group found fomenting trouble or engaging in violent activities.

“This administration will not tolerate any actions that threaten the peace and stability of our great state,” he warned.

In a viral video on x.com, four bodies were seen soaked in blood lifeless.

 

Curfew was also declared in Borno and Yobe States to avert further destructions of lives and properties.
