In all honesty, the Nigerian Police are doing a great job to maintain peace and public order in the country. This is in spite of the onslaught of the Fulani herdsmen’s killing spree across the country.
There are some outstanding cops who are worthy of commendation for being dogged officers doing their jobs with full commitment and loyalty.

Two of such leading role models are DCP Abba Kyari and CP Ibrahim Magu. Although the National Assembly refused to confirm the appointment of Ibrahim Magu as the Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, what he lost here have been rewarded by the Police Service Commission, PSC.
The duo of Abba Kyari and Ibrahim Magu have helped to reduce crimes and corruption in the society.
The Police Service Commission on Thursday released names of police officers given special promotion for their roles in the arrest of billionaire kidnapper Evans and other outstanding performances in other areas of the force.
The leader of the police team that arrested Evans, DCP Abba-Kyari, who was also promoted celebrated it with a statement.

Read his statement made by newly promoted Abba Kyari to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police:
â€Finally, after 10-months, the Police Service Commission (PSC) released the Promotion For All the 45 Police Officers involved in the Arrest Of Nigeria’s Most Notorious Kidnap Kingpin Evans and 21 of his gang
members including 2 Serving Military Personnel.
â€Recoveries of 7 Mansions and landed properties worth billions Of naira in Nigeria and Ghana. Cars, Trucks, Expensive Furnitures, Jewelries, Several AK47 Rifles, Thousands Of Ammunitions, leg chains and many rifle magazines etc etc were recovered and registered as exhibits. All bought from ransom collected from Innocent Nigerians that were kidnapped by the kidnap kingpin Evans who is known and referred to in the crime world and his gang-members as “Genius In Crime and Criminality.â€

As the arrest of over 200 kidnappers terrorizing Abuja-Kaduna-Kano express way and the re-arrest of the notorious criminals that escaped from lawful custody in Kogi State plus the recent arrest of Offa Bank Robbers in Kwara State and many more are direct results of IGP Ibrahim Idris’s morale boosting policies.

The Chairman of the Police Service Commission, PSC, Dr Mike Okiro congratulated the newly promoted officers and urged them to rededicate themselves to the service of their fatherland.
He also assured them that the commission would continue to pay attention to their basic entitlements which include regular promotions.
