The flood at the entrance of the roundabout through Mayfair took a whole lane that motorists avoid to drive against causing traffic gridlock.
A resident and others interviewed said I have not seen anything, she went further that anytime it rained, they will have to bring Pumping Machine to offload pool of water from the road.
Our visit to the economic centre of Ife, LAGERE where there was a road leading to the Palace, other one going to Obafemi Awolowo Teaching Hospital and the other one to Modakeke are not motorable.
We noticed last year that the dual carriage way was graded thinking it was about to be rehabilitated but it was abandoned halfway making life difficult for the residents including the Ooni of Ife, HRH Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.

That is the only major road leading to the Palace of the Arole Oduduwa, the source of Yorubaland.
A visit to Modakeke through Mayfair was as bad as the ones mentioned above which includes Okeola and other areas in Modakeke.
The residents are calling on all relevant Authorities including the state and the Federal Government to come to the rescue of the people before full blown raining season commence.
Above all, there is urgent need to rehabilitate the major roads leading to the city and the Ooni’ Palace and the Yoruba race as a mark of honour.
