Yorubaland liberator and an activist, Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho has tendered unreserved apology to the Ooni of Ife, HRH Oba Enitan Ogunwusi over his verbal attacks on him when he was on a virtual live program on Tuesday, February 2, 2021.
In his own words, Igboho said he was pained as a result of assaults of the Fulanis on the Yorubas on their own land. He mentioned many prominent Yorubas killed by suspected Fulanis which includes, Olufon of Ifon, Dr Faborode, Oko Oloyun and a host of others while our Obas kept silent.
Igboho said it is not permitted for any Yoruba sons to insult their Oba. He admitted that it was a slip of tongue due to the suffering of his own people from the hands of killer herdsmen in the Southwest. He added that he has spoken with Ooni today.
Now that political space in Nigeria is open and gaining momentum towards the Anambra State governorship election in 2021, Osun State in 2022 and the general elections in 2023, anyone who intends to be a participant in these elections need to start with a bold step now in order to finish well in victory.
