The Tinubu 2027 campaign formally began on Saturday as the All Progressives Congress (APC) held its presidential campaign flag-off at Kaduna Township Stadium. Supporters filled the stadium as the rally got underway, according to reports from the venue. President Bola Tinubu arrived in Kaduna earlier. Vice President Kashim Shettima and Governor Uba Sani received him.
Governors, ministers, senators and party chieftains have gathered at the venue. Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun is among them. In addition, all seven North-West governors were expected, Daily Trust reported. The APC Presidential Campaign Council, led by Senator Abdulaziz Yari, is coordinating the campaign.

The party chose Kaduna to start in the North-West. One analyst told Daily Trust that the choice was deliberate. He said it also rewards Governor Sani’s support for the party. Meanwhile, the group Arewa for Asiwaju said it targeted more than 10,000 supporters from the 19 northern states and Abuja. The stadium reportedly holds about 10,000 people.
The event is expected to feature the party’s Renewed Hope 2.0 agenda. It outlines the party’s priorities for a second term. The campaign will now try to persuade voters on the administration’s record and its plans. The rally follows the APC’s adoption of Tinubu as its sole candidate at a national summit in Abuja.
Security was tight across the city. Police, army and civil defence personnel were deployed to key locations. Organisers also said guests would be screened before entering the stadium. Deputy Governor Hadiza Balarabe, who chairs the local organising committee, gave that assurance.
Opposition parties are watching closely. Politics Nigeria reported that the ADC accused the APC of importing supporters for the rally. Sojworldnews could not find an APC response to that claim.
This is a developing story. Sojworldnews will update it with the President’s speech and other highlights.
