The Crashed helicopter that Conveyed VP Yemi Osinbanjo to Kabba, Kogi State On Saturday, February 2, 2019

People were expectant and waiting for so long for the Vice President’s helicopter to land, suddenly they saw it in the air. They were ecstatically waiting to see their man of the moment, the chopper coming towards their direction in an open field.

We could see people including children waving and jubilating, suddenly as the chopper was about few metres to land nothing seemed to be amiss until when it was difficult for it to find its balance, it tumbled, there were flames and dust that overshadowed the entire helicopter as it crash-landed.

The people waiting ran helter-skelter for their dear lives in different directions.

Luckily for the enterprising and workaholic Vice-President and his team which includes the Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige the chopper did not catch fire, although they managed to stampede out of the door.

Miraculously, no one sustained any injury.

Determined as Prof. Yemi Osinbajo was, he and his team still went to Kabba to pay homage to the King and headed for the APC rally in spite of the incident.

He had this to say after the incident;

“We are safe and sound! Thank you to everyone who has expressed concern and thank you to the crew who managed the situation well.

We believed that God will continue to keep us and Nigeria safe even as we go higher.
