Akeredolu Flags Off Full Trucks Assembly Plant Operations In Ondo

In fulfillment of his electoral promises, the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has begin a full operation of new truck assembly in the state.

A few months back, President Muhammadu Buhari commissioned a new vehicle assembly hub in Ore, Ondo State. Fast forward to today; we are getting new reports that one of the plants in the hub has begun operation recently while others will join as soon as the COVID-19 pandemic subsides.

The same way Anambra state is blessed to have Innoson Motors and its Nnewi factory, the new vehicle assembly plants that have now begun operation in Ondo state can bring about an industrial revolution in the state.

According to reports, an investor company called Dongfeng Trucks has begun assembling trucks at the recently launched Ondo-Linyi industrial hub in Ore, Ondo State.

Manager of the hub, Chief Alex Ajipe, in a statement made available to journalists in Akure yesterday, said that a firm, Dongfeng Trucks, one of the investors at the park, had started assembling of trucks.

Ajipe, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Klick Konnect Network International Limited, added that it was a fulfilment of the promises made by the governor during his third year anniversary when President Muhammadu Buhari came to commission the park.

According to him, the firm, Dongfeng Trucks, which was established in 1969, is one of China’s leading truck brands, with the product range covering heavy and medium duty-trucks.

He said that this was the first time in the history of the state that a truck assemblage plant would be operating in the state, adding that the plant would begin full assembling of trucks when the COVID-19 pandemic subsides.

From reports reaching us, this new truck assembly plant is currently located at Odigbo LGA in Ore, Ondo State. And, Chief Alex Ajipe surprisingly revealed that in Ondo State’s history, this Dongfeng plant would be the very first to assemble trucks in the state.

This breakthrough now joins other latest achievements recorded at the Ore industrial hub. Some of these include being currently rated as one of Nigeria’s largest producers of high-quality food-grade ethanol and the first-ever MDF factory to be seen in West Africa as a whole.
