Tope Alabi’s lawyers have demanded that Canada-based pastor Tayo Kumuyi retract allegations linking her to the death of gospel minister Toluwanisings. The demand came in a cease-and-desist letter dated 24 October 2026. The claims are disputed, and no lawsuit had been confirmed in the reports reviewed.

Oakmount Legal Practitioners addressed the letter to the operator of the Facebook page Pastor Tayo Ministries. The lawyers accused him of publishing claims between 20 and 24 October that linked Alabi to the death of Toluwanisings, whose full name is Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji. They called the claims false and defamatory. They also said Alabi had mourned him publicly and privately, and had no involvement in his death or anyone else’s.

The lawyers demanded the removal of the posts and an end to further publication. They also asked for an unreserved retraction and apology, pinned on the same page for 14 days. In addition, they asked him to state the factual basis for any claim he maintains. They further asked whether he had reported the claims to the police.

The letter also cited a later post directed at Alabi. The lawyers described it as a threat of harm. They said they would use it as evidence of malice if the matter reaches court. Moreover, they rejected the idea that living in Canada would shield him, since the posts targeted a Nigerian public figure and a Nigerian audience.

Legit.ng reported that the pastor deleted the posts after the ultimatum. However, it said he had not issued the demanded apology at the time of its report. Sojworldnews could not find a public reply from him to the letter. Legit.ng also reported that other ministers named in similar claims have taken legal action.

According to the letter, no police investigation, court ruling or official finding has linked Alabi to the death. The claims in the letter have not been independently verified.

This report presents the lawyers’ letter and does not establish any claim as fact. Sojworldnews will update this story if a lawsuit is filed or a reply is made.
