Distinguished leaders of Boripe, Odo-Otin, and Ifelodun have received a strong appeal ahead of a crucial decision.

Tokunbo Olusegun.O issued the statement, praising their leadership and consistent guidance within the constituency.

“At this crucial moment, you carry a responsibility that is both historic and delicate,” the statement declared.

“This moment goes beyond selecting a flagbearer. You must protect the honour and credibility of our party.”

The statement stressed the importance of protecting the reputation of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Furthermore, it highlighted the party’s foundation of discipline, integrity, and progressive governance across Nigeria.

“As our elders say, ‘bí a bá rìn lójú ọ̀nà, a gbọ́dọ̀ mọ ibi tí a ń lọ’,” Olusegun stated.

“This means we must always know our destination when we choose a path,” the statement explained.

In addition, the appeal aligned with the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

It referenced the Renewed Hope Agenda, which promotes transparency, accountability, and sustainable development.

“Therefore, the representative we present must reflect these values in conduct and life experience,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, the statement acknowledged that aspirants possess different strengths and professional backgrounds.

However, it clearly separated financial strength from proven credibility and consistent personal growth.

“Kò sí igi tó ga tó fi gbongbo rẹ̀ pamọ́,” the statement emphasised.

“No tree grows so tall that its roots remain hidden,” it explained.

“The true measure of leadership lies in clarity, integrity, and a verifiable life journey,” the statement added.

Moreover, the appeal stressed the long-term impact of leadership decisions on younger generations.

“Ọmọ tí a kò kọ́ ni yóò gbé ilé tí a kọ́ tà,” the statement warned.

“The child we fail to train may destroy what we have built,” it explained further.

“Therefore, today’s leadership choices will shape future values and aspirations,” the statement noted.

Notably, the statement referenced former Osun State Governor, Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola.

It described him as a model of humility, discipline, and consistent public service.

“His example shows that true leadership depends on integrity, competence, and service,” the statement stated.

Additionally, the appeal urged caution when uncertainty surrounds any aspirant or political process.

“Omi tí yóò mu kó mọ́, a kì í mu lọ́wọ́ àlejò,” the statement cautioned.

“We must not accept what we do not fully understand,” it clarified.

Furthermore, the statement stressed the importance of careful scrutiny for federal-level leadership positions.

It emphasised that candidates must withstand public scrutiny and inspire widespread confidence.

“Our fathers remain the custodians of our political conscience and unity,” Olusegun added.

“We trust your wisdom and experience to guide this important decision,” the statement continued.

Finally, the statement quoted another proverb: “Orúkọ rere sàn ju wúrà àti fàdákà lọ.”

“A good name remains more valuable than silver or gold,” the statement explained.

Ultimately, the appeal urged fairness, foresight, and commitment to collective progress.

“Let the chosen candidate have a clear story, strong character, and defendable leadership,” the statement concluded.

Keyphrase: APC candidate selection integrity.
