The Asiwaju Political Movement (APM) has extended heartfelt appreciation to Nigerian workers on the occasion of the 2025 International Workers’ Day, praising their resilience, dedication, and significant contributions to national growth and development.
In a press statement signed by the APM Director-General, Comrade Madiba Monday Ledum, the Director General described workers as the true heroes of the nation whose tireless efforts sustain the pillars of the economy and society.
“Today, we salute our men and women—across every sector—whose sweat, skills, and sacrifice keep our nation moving forward. From teachers to health workers, artisans to civil servants, farmers to engineers, your commitment remains the bedrock of Nigeria’s progress,” the statement read.
The Director general expressed concern over the ongoing challenges faced by Nigerian workers, including economic hardship, low wages, and unstable job conditions. He called on the government at all levels to take urgent steps toward addressing these issues and ensuring that workers enjoy fair and dignified employment.
“As a progressive movement inspired by the vision of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we remain committed to supporting policies that promote job creation, inclusive growth, and sustainable livelihoods for all,” he added.
The APM encouraged stronger collaboration between government, labour unions, and the private sector to promote industrial harmony, safeguard labour rights, and ensure better living standards for workers and their families.
“On this Workers’ Day, we say thank you. Thank you for your labour of love, for building hope, and for shaping the future of our great nation,” the statement concluded.
The movement also reaffirmed its solidarity with the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and other organized labour bodies in their pursuit of justice, fairness, and improved welfare for all Nigerian workers.
