THE Bola Ahmed Tinubu Our Choice 2023 (BATOC23) formally launched a formidable movement for the enthronement of the former Lagos State Governor and the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Osogbo on Thursday, March 17, 2022 as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2023.

The Press Conference took place at the Osun State capital, Osogbo under the leadership of the Nigerian Ambassador to Mexico, Amb. Adejare Bello.
He was ably represented by the Director-General of BATOC23, Dr. Isiaka Ayodele Owoade (PhD).
At the inaugural speech delivered by the DG available to SOJ WORLDWIDE ONLINE NEWS, http://www.sojworldnews.com (he said,
“…this group came into existence because Bola Ahmed Tinubu is Our Choice for the 2023 Presidential Election. We have also collectively resolved to use our resources both physical and financial to advance the course of enthroning our principal as the next Nigerian President.”
“Our principal Asiwaju is eminently qualified for the job, and with so much goodwill across the nation, I confidently assure you that we are backing the right horse. Asiwaju’s goodwill and national acceptance was convincingly demonstrated during his consultation tours to various stakeholders all of who endorsed him unconditionally. Asiwaju towers above all the other aspirants, hidden and known, and it might be a no-contest at the end of the day.”
When asked if age will not stand between Tinubu and the Presidency, Owoade and the Director of Mobilisation, Chief Owoeye Samuel Abiodun (OSA) said age could not be an impediment to good governance but will rather be an advantage to Nigerians considering Tinubu’s many years of experience as a two-term Governor of a Mega city like Lagos, a former Senator, the National leader of the ruling APC and a Progressive to the core who has never decamped to any party since 1999 when the Third Republic started.
Good afternoon Comrades and Associates.
Firstly, I like to tender the apology of our National Chairman and Convener Ambassador Adejare Bello for his inability to be here physically with us. He is on national assignment on duty as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Mexico. He is expected to join us via Zoom.
This meeting was arranged to afford us the opportunity to meet face to face and further reiterate our belief in the struggle to enthrone Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Nigeria’s next President in 2023. I want to thank everyone for the dedication and commitment shown so far, especially the turn out during Asiwaju’s visit on Royal consultation to Osun.
As our name suggests, this group came into existence because Bola Ahmed Tinubu is Our Choice for the 2023 Presidential Election. We have also collectively resolved to use our resources both physical and financial to advance the course of enthroning our principal as the next Nigerian president.
BATOC23 decision is in glaring realities of the difference Tinubu has made in people’s lives, in expanding economic opportunities, in the transformation of his state’s physical infrastructure, and in steering Nigeria into a new and progressive course. His politics is better reflected in the context of his socio-economic objectives while he has excelled in tackling these noble tasks. Talking of resilience and consistency, BATOC23 believes Tinubu was the arrowhead of a stable, robust opposition culture for 15 years while the Peoples Democratic Party ruled at the Centre.
Our Choice in Tinubu is also because he stood true to his progressive credentials and precedence. He planned and plotted. He co-hatched the biggest and most successful political coalition of all times in Africa – the All Progressive Congress.
Tinubu is our choice because he has the competence, vision and capacity to build on the foundation of President Mohammadu Buhari.
Although he hasn’t held an elected position since the end of his second term as governor, Tinubu has been deeply involved in Nigeria’s politics as a master strategist.
He was behind negotiations to unite Nigeria’s opposition parties and push for electoral reforms resulting in the merger of Nigeria’s three biggest opposition parties into the All Progressives Congress party in 2014.
He supported Buhari as the party’s presidential candidate in the 2015 elections. Buhari’s victory was in part thanks to Tinubu’s extensive influence in Nigeria’s southwest, especially Lagos.
Our objective is to constitute this organisation into a powerful support group working to bring pressure to bear on all stakeholders to gain favourable acceptance outcomes to our principal throughout the country. In order to accomplish this goal, we have developed strategies and plans of action and will execute these strategies through specific tactics.
Ladies and gentlemen, the journey has just started and I want to appeal that we must be ready to give it all to achieve the objective. Our principal Asiwaju is eminently qualified for the job, and with so much goodwill across the nation, I confidently assure you that we are backing the right horse. Asiwaju’s goodwill and national acceptance was convincingly demonstrated during his consultation tours to various stakeholders all of who endorsed him unconditionally. Asiwaju towers above all the other aspirants, hidden and known, and it might be a no-contest at the end of the day. Without mincing words and without any fear of equivocation, all objective Nigerians will attest to the sterling qualities of Asiwaju as a visionary leader, a builder of bridges a builder of leaders. He proved his mettle as Governor of Lagos State between 1999 and 2003. He initiated the blueprint on which the growth of Lagos has rested leading to its present status as a Mega City. We have decided to support Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu because in him lies the solution to Nigeria’s hydra-headed challenges of nation-building, a solution that has evaded government after government since independence in 1960.
From his service to the cause of restoring democracy during NADECO struggle to his time as Governor and ever since that he has been out of government, Asiwaju has been resolute in his vision for a great Nigeria. President Buhari and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu were the two co-architects whose vision and sacrifice led to the merger that birthed APC. As President Buhari is serving his tenure out, equity and natural justice demand that Asiwaju be the de-facto successor who must also be honoured for his efforts with the highest office in the land. I make bold to say that Asiwaju’s contribution to the formation and nurturing of All Progressives Congress as well as his numerous other leadership accolades have accorded him an unassailable right to the APC ticket which only an ingrate party member will contest.
However, this is a democracy and it will be our duty to be battle-ready to confront any such ingrate(s). Asiwaju has paid his dues and this is the time to reward him. He has built bridges. He has built leaders. He is a rare-breed Nigerian and Nigeria must not lose the opportunity of his presidency for another him may never come again.
Fellow compatriots, please join BATOC23 as we proudly declare BOLA AHMED TINUBU OUR CHOICE 2023.
