
Before this appointment, he served as Head of the Complaint Response Unit at Force Headquarters in Abuja. In that role, he led initiatives that improved transparency and strengthened public trust in the police system. Additionally, he previously worked as Public Relations Officer at the Police College of Information Technology in Ogun State and held several operational and administrative positions, including Officer-in-Charge of the Force Headquarters Situation Room.
Furthermore, the Inspector-General of Police expressed confidence in his capacity to enhance the Force’s communication strategy, deepen public engagement, and support ongoing policing reforms through effective information management.

“CSP Iniedu has consistently demonstrated professionalism, discipline, and a strong commitment to public service. We believe his appointment will further strengthen trust between the Police Force and the Nigerian public,” the statement read.
In addition, security observers say the appointment signals a renewed push by the Nigeria Police Force to improve transparency and modernize its public relations structure. Consequently, stakeholders expect more proactive communication and improved crisis response.
Meanwhile, CSP Anietie Iniedu is expected to assume duties immediately and coordinate all public communication channels of the Force nationwide.
