OLOWU Kuta, HRM Oba (Dr) Adekunle Makama OYELUDE (CON) on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 eulogized the Distinct Advocacy for Youths Empowerment and Healthier Society, DAYHES saying among all the NGOs he has been interfacing with, DAYEHS stands out.
He made the statement on Wednesday when the Director-General of the organization, Amb. Fawamide Nathaniel Seun paid him a courtesy visit at his Palace in Kuta with members of his Executives.
Kabiyesi who has won many Awards of Excellence from both local and international organizations including the National Merit Award, the Commander of the Order of Niger, CON said there could not be a better time than now to put a halt to menace of youth vices in the society.
“Among the various NGOs I have been interfacing with for the past 15 years I have been here, your own stands out. Because for obvious fundamental reasons, you touched one of our fast deteriorating core values in life, moral decadence.
Since we have got it wrong with our youths, we start witnessing moral decline among our youths, then, the country has been short of providing nationalists.”
Without the nationalists, we can’t be talking about moral values, it is not possible. We celebrate armed robbers, we celebrated even shameless kings, Yahoo Boys, political liars, we celebrate them without shame.
Where would patriotism come from? Moral values have nosedived from the grassroots.”
Oba Makama added that he has not seen neither religious organizations nor cultural groups that are looking at that aspect,
“I must commend you because it takes a deep positive thinker to look at the gap and bridge it and that is what you have just done.”
We don’t need to deceive ourselves in this country, we get it wrong. The potential threats you envisaged, the day of reckoning is not far.”
He said these are the youths we are looking forward to as our future leaders. He decried the worsening menace of Cultism and narcotics in our secondary and primary schools.
He said teenagers and now coming home with cars and their parents will not ask for the source of their wealth.
He pointedly told the DAYEHS Exco led by Amb Fawamide that they have a lot to do, although they have done a lot in the past.

Kabiyesi commended Fawamide after he presented a book “BETTER YOUTHS BETTER SOCIETY” to Kabiyesi and urged the DAYHES to take the war against moral decadence to them through the monarchs, seminars, lectures to win at least 30% of the youths, they will become advocates against moral decadence in the society.
He urged the organization to do more so that the gospel would go round other states.
Meanwhile, Fawamide had earlier told Kabiyesi about DAYEHS vision, mission and objectives as non-profit governmental organisation which includes; making positive impact by teaching our youths moral values, charity by moving about impacting lives of the less privilege.
He told Kabiyesi that DAYEHS is seeking his royal support and moral guidance for more relevance across the length and breadth of the country.
