FCMB ceiling intruder — A man was allegedly discovered hiding inside the ceiling of an FCMB branch after an overnight intrusion.
According to reports circulating on social media, the suspect entered the bank during business hours. He reportedly posed as a customer who wanted to carry out a transaction.
However, instead of leaving the premises, he allegedly entered the restroom. He then climbed into the ceiling and remained there until employees closed for the day.
After workers left, the suspect reportedly came down from his hiding place. He allegedly attempted to gain unauthorized access to the bank’s computer systems.
Meanwhile, he reportedly faced a new challenge. Since he could not leave the building unnoticed, he allegedly climbed back into the ceiling and spent the night there.
The following morning, the plan reportedly unraveled.
According to reports, a staff member tried to use the restroom but found the door locked from the inside. Consequently, workers alerted security personnel after receiving no response.
Security officers forced the door open and searched the area. During the search, they allegedly noticed unusual signs. Shortly afterward, they discovered the suspect hiding in the ceiling.
At the same time, employees switched on their computers and reportedly noticed unusual prompts asking users to click “OK.”
As a result, concerns quickly spread across the office. Staff members suspected that someone had tampered with the systems.
“It became clear that something unusual had happened within the computer network,” a source familiar with the incident claimed.
Furthermore, the incident sparked widespread reactions online. Many social media users expressed shock at the suspect’s alleged actions.
One user wrote, “The level of audacity was unbelievable.”
A video circulating online reportedly shows the man being confronted after his discovery.
However, FCMB and law enforcement authorities had not released official statements at the time of filing this report.
