Anyone in the Oyo State capital, Ibadan and its environs will not forget Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu in a hurry when he was still alive.

His name was synonymous with thuggery and hooliganism. If you call him a kingmaker or godfather of politicians, you have not missed it.
At least, he enthroned Adewolu Ladoja as governor of Oyo, he also see to his removal and the enthronement of his Deputy, Adebayo Alao-Akala as his replacement.

The face-off between Adedibu and Ladoja was the failure of the governor to give him (Adedibu), at least, 25% of the Oyo State Security Vote as his own allowance every month.”
He complained bitterly on a Television programme,
“Immediately he (Ladoja) became the governor, he completely changed to how he was before he became a governor.

“He collected N65 million a month as security money, am I not entitled to one quarter of that every month?”
With the connivance of the Deputy Governor at the time, Bayo Alao-Akala, Governor Ladoja was impeached.
