Governor Adeleke’s administration has clarified that the reconstruction of the Iwo-Osogbo Road was approved in January 2025, contrary to reports suggesting the approval was made after recent agitation.
This was made known in a Press Release by the Spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed made available to SOJ WORLDWIDE on Saturday, August 30, 2025.
He said the governor approved the project in January, leading to a procurement process that started almost three months ago and concluded recently.

He added that contractors have been awarded letters and are mobilizing to commence work next week, following a pre-work inspection by the Commissioner of Special Duties and Regional Integration.
The government emphasizes that Governor Adeleke’s actions demonstrate his deep love for Iwoland and its people, showcasing his commitment to addressing infrastructural challenges.
The governor has promised to complete outstanding projects within the timeline, reassuring the Oluwo of Iwoland and the community of his dedication.
The Osun State Government urges the public to disregard reports suggesting the governor acted due to pressure or agitation, highlighting instead his proactive approach to governance and development

Aside from the ongoing dualisation of the Iwo township road, the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Iwo – Osogbo has been uppermost in Mr Governor’s mind.
“Mr Governor does not need any agitator or protest to do the right thing for the people of Iwoland.

Mr Governor has promised Kabiyesi, the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, the Iwo Board of Trustees and all Iwo elders that all outstanding projects will be completed within the timeline. His Excellency is walking the talk”, the statement noted.

How was the road reconstruction approved since January 2025 as you said and now made known in Auvust to the public if not that people mounted pressure on your government.
