Tragedy struck in the Oje area of Ibadan today as two Osun worshippers reportedly drowned, died while performing a ritual at the Alafara River.
According to eyewitnesses who spoke with our correspondent said the two individuals entered the river earlier in the day to carry out rituals in honor of the Osun deity.
Unfortunately, both were swept away by the current. One of the bodies was recovered later in the evening, while search efforts are still ongoing for the second victim at the time of filing this report.

It was also revealed that the father of one of the victims had drowned in the same river last December while performing a similar ritual to the Osun deity.
