THE Prophetess who reportedly accused an old woman identified as Kehinde Ojo of transforming from bird to human has been arrested along with others.

According to a reliable source, the children denied that their mother was a witch as alleged by the Prophetess.

In a viral video on x.vom monitored by SOJ WORLDWIDE was published few days ago, the woman was being interrogated by a woman and some men whose faces were not shown.

Further information reportedly began when a prophetess from a nearby white garment church accused her of transforming from a bird into a human and falling on the church roof during prayers.

Eyewitnesses in the community claimed the prophetess raised the alarm, drawing a crowd that questioned and assaulted the elderly woman.

A resident said, “The prophetess insisted the woman was a witch, and many people believed her.”

The Ogun State Police Command later intervened, rescuing the injured woman and taking her to the hospital.

However, a Police source confirmed that Ojo succumbed to her injuries and later died on Thursday while receiving treatment at the state general hospital.

Kabir Kehinde, the deceased woman’s son, refuted the allegations of witchcraft, accusing the prophetess and her son of instigating the attack.

“My mother was not a witch; she lost her way while trying to visit my brother,” he stated.

Kabir alleged that the prophetess and others began assaulting his mother on Monday evening, forcing her to confess to witchcraft.

“They beat her until Tuesday morning, ignoring her pleas of innocence,” he said. “She was still bleeding when we buried her.”

Police confirmed that the case has been transferred to the Ogun State Command headquarters for further investigation.

The prophetess, along with other suspects, has reportedly been arrested.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, when contacted, said, “I am not yet aware of this incident but will look into it.”

The tragic event has sparked outrage and calls for justice in the community.

A resident remarked, “We need to stop these baseless accusations and mob actions that claim innocent lives.”

Another source who wants to remain anonymous told SOJ WORLDWIDE,

“I read this news sir, and have an insight into what really happened about the issue.

We were made to understand that the said woman was not involved in witchcraft, neither was she a witch.

I was made to understand that the issue happened around 6:00am when the old woman was returning to her house from her children’s house.

I was made to understand that the old woman was having running stomach, and wasn’t feeling to well, but was given an antidote to take, so it was the antidote that made her feel weak dizzy, which made her to fall.

Hence, it was the sound of her falling down that the church members heard outside, which made them to rush out and start asking her and forcing her to confess of her witchcraft activities, which she told them, what happened.

But the church members didn’t listen, they beat her, and the woman was rushed down to the hospital, but died on her way to the hospital for treatment.

I learnt about 17 church members have been arrested and are in police custody.”

The family of Kehinde Ojo has demanded justice, urging the authorities to prosecute all those responsible for her death.
