The Living Faith Church pastor kidnapped in Kogi State has triggered renewed fear across Ijumu communities.

Residents say insecurity is worsening despite repeated attacks.

A pastor of Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel, was abducted by suspected bandits.

The incident happened in Okoro Gbedde, Ijumu Local Government Area.

Eyewitnesses confirmed the Living Faith Church pastor kidnapped was heading to his farm on Saturday.

He was traveling on a motorcycle along the Okeoffin–Okoro Gbedde axis.

According to witnesses, the pastor was not alone.

He was accompanied by a commercial motorcycle rider.

The duo reportedly encountered armed men on the road.

The attackers suddenly emerged and blocked their path.

Sources said the pastor jumped off the motorcycle.

The commercial rider escaped unharmed.

However, the gunmen seized the pastor immediately.

He was taken to an unknown destination.

As of filing this report, no ransom demand has been made.

The kidnappers have not contacted the family or church.

Residents say fear has spread rapidly.

Many now avoid isolated roads.

Living Faith Church Pastor Kidnapped Amid Rising Church Attacks

The abduction has revived memories of earlier church attacks in Kogi.

Many residents say religious gatherings are no longer safe.

In December 2025, gunmen attacked two churches in Aiyetoro Kiri.

The First ECWA Church and Apostolic Church were targeted.

During that raid, worshippers were kidnapped.

At least 37 people were taken, including children and elderly members.

The attackers later demanded ₦600 million ransom.

They reportedly contacted the community directly.

Sources said the bandits issued threats.

They warned of consequences if payment delayed.

Tragically, the church attack claimed a life.

Pastor Jimoh Adeyemi, a seminary graduate, was killed.

More than 12 children were among the abducted victims.

Several elderly worshippers over 70 were also taken.
