NIGERIAN youths on Thursday, July 17, 2025 united against social vices at a summit held at the Adelak Event Centre, Osogbo, Osun State.
The event organized by the “Coalition of Nigerian Youths on Security and Safety Affairs (CONYSSA)” presented by the “South-West Youth Multi-Stakeholders’ Summit on Social Vices.”
The event was in collaboration with the “Federal Ministry of Youth Development, EFCC, NDLEA, NPF, NSCDC, FRSC, NDA and the office of the Chief of Defence Staff.”
The theme of the summit was centred on “Southwest Youths in the fight against Cultism, Internet Fraud, Money Laundering, Drug Abuse, Child Trafficking and Economic Sabotage.”
Youth leaders and security experts took turns to sensitize the youths on the needs to shun every form of vices that could derail their destiny. They are advised to come up with new ideas because the present and the future belongs to the youths.
According to the speakers including the Osun State Governor who was ably represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor, Barrister Samuel Ojo enjoined the youth to shun violence, Cultism, internet fraud, drug abuse and other forms of vices. He said the government was ready to support youths with new ideas.
The President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria Solomon Adodo while speaking with Newsmen said the youth body has been reorganized and reformed in line with President Bola Tinubu Renewed Hope agenda.
He reiterated the plans of the President to give maximum support to the youths who are ready with the new order and who are ready to come with new ideas.

“More than 40 uniform youth organisations attended the summit across the states in the Southwest to look at security situations in the region and the broader perspective of Nigeria. To find ways and vistas to build peace as a precursor of development.
We also know that there is strong nexus between peace, security and development. Where there is tendency for peace and security there is a strong tendency that development would thrive and flourish.
The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Tinubu has stated time and again and proven in action that he is ready to partner with the youths of Nigeria. And I have come with that message to the youths of Southwest region.

Bring all your great potentials as we work towards peace and security, we are also working towards the development of the Southwest region.
Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu is ready to give all the youth the needed support to thrive and to succeed.
But we must be ready, we must rise from mere potentials and move to productivity, we must be ready to shun vices, we must be ready to shun violence.”
