Joy and hope filled the air as a cross section of Nigerians reacted to the launch of the admission portal of the first school of aviation in Africa, Isaac Balami University of Aeronautics and Management (IBUAM), for the 2026/2027 academic session.

A few of the numerous reactions culled from social media are as follows:
ManDevoe, posting on his Facebook handle, wrote: “It is a great development to now have a school of aviation in Nigeria. My son had always wanted to be an Aeronautical Engineer here on home soil, but there has been no opportunity, as there was no such school around. With the establishment of IBUAM, I am proud to say that my son would be one of the beneficiaries.”

Ogudele, also posting on his X handle, wrote: “If not for my age of 55, with six children, I would have loved to enrol in this school, IBUAM, because I had no such opportunity during my youthful days. Notwithstanding, I believe my daughter, Damilola, who equally has the same passion, will do so.”

Eleojoh, also stating on his Facebook handle, wrote: “Wow, an Aeronautics school in Nigeria? My daughter must surely be part of this, and I hope the fees are affordable as well.”

Abubakar Giya, posting on his X handle, wrote: “The establishment of this school, IBUAM, is definitely going to reduce brain drain, as many people would be encouraged to enrol here in Nigeria instead of travelling abroad.”

In her own reaction, Hajiya Fati, posting on her Facebook handle, wrote: “If we had this kind of school, IBUAM, before now, the rate of social decadence would not have been this huge, as many have graduated from universities without jobs. But with this type of school, employment is certain. Kudos to the founder.”

Others, whose views are too numerous to capture, equally commended the founder for his vision and foresight in establishing such a noble institution in Lagos, Nigeria.

Recall that IBUAM recently launched its admission portal for the 2026/2027 academic session.
