Obasanjo criticizes Tinubu government — Former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has launched a fresh criticism against the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accusing the Federal Government of reckless spending despite Nigeria’s growing debt profile.

Obasanjo made the remark in a trending video circulating on social media on Wednesday, where he openly condemned the economic direction of the current administration.

In the viral clip shared by Advocacy For Good Governance on X, the former president said the country is borrowing heavily while government officials continue to spend public funds extravagantly.

“Tinubu is a complete failure. The government is deep in debt yet he is spending money like a drunken sailor,” Obasanjo stated.

The former Nigerian leader further expressed concern over the worsening economic hardship facing millions of Nigerians. According to him, the country’s financial situation requires discipline, prudent management, and policies that directly benefit ordinary citizens.

Meanwhile, the comment has triggered massive reactions across social media platforms. While some Nigerians agreed with Obasanjo’s criticism of the Tinubu administration, others accused the former president of failing to solve similar challenges during his own time in office.
