THE Osun State Police Command paraded suspected armed robbers and three other occupants who pretended to be students with a car registered as PRESIDENCY NANS.

According to a Press Briefing by the new Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Gotan on Thursday, June 26, 2025, he said four suspected robbers, Adewale Kehinde (driver) ‘m’ age 25 years and three other occupants one Adebayo Ayuba ‘m’ age 22 years, Olasupo Abeeb ‘m’ age 23 years and Adeniyi Mustapha were arrested along Osogbo-Ilesha Road.

 

English Beretta Pistol and two empty magazines, cutlass and charms were recovered from the suspects.

 

On June 24, 2025 at about 8:30pm upon a credible information, the Command’s CP’s Surveillance squad led by the Commander on stop and search along Osogbo-Ilesa Road, Osogbo intercepted a Toyota Camry with Registration number: PRESIDENCY NANS 27ZD driven by one Adewale Kehinde ‘m’ age 25 years and three (3) other occupants one Adebayo Ayuba ‘m’ age 22 years, Olasupo Abeeb ‘m’ age 23 years and Adeniyi Mustapha ‘m’ age 21 years. They claimed to be a student. The vehicle was thoroughly searched and an English Beretta Pistol and two empty magazines that were carefully concealed in a box inside the vehicle were recovered alongside a cutlass and some criminal charms. Investigation reveals that the suspects are criminals terrorizing Ilesa/ Osu and its environs.”

In another development, the Police Command, on stop-and-search arrested two IBEDC vandals riding on motorbike at Osu along Ile-Ife Ibadan Road. Stolen cables tied to the back of their motorbike was recovered as exhibits from them.

 

The Command’s Swift Action Squad (SAS) while on stop and search on 21/06/2025 along Ile-Ife/Ibadan expressway Osu, arrested IBEDC vandals on bike who have been terrorizing the environs with bags tied to their motorcycles.

It was discovered that the bag contains IBEDC cable/wire suspected to have been stolen. The two Suspects one Usman Abubakar ‘m’ 25yrs and Bashiru Garuba ‘m’ 26yrs along with the exhibit were arrested.

The CP’s surveillance team of the Command intense efforts led to the recovery of seven motorcycles, three Boxers with Reg. No WSN 409 VC, JJB 805 QH, QW 01 FST and four unregistered.

Two big sacks containing IBEDC cable/wire and two saw blades. The suspects who claim to be scrap dealers at Modakeke.”

 

The Cultism squad of the Police Command also arrested two suspected cultists, Adeparusin Kehinde a.k.a “Kehinde Mansion” and Ariyibi Dada ‘m’ age 25yrs popularly known as “Enu-Ose” belonging to Eiye fraternity with dangerous weapons at Oke-Ola area, Osogbo.

The suspects arrested were allegedly responsible for the death of one Awoniyi Kareem.

 

Likewise, on 1/6/2025, the Anti-cultism squad of the Command received intel that, some armed hoodlums suspected to be members of Eiye confraternity led by one Tajudeen Abass ‘m’ age 25yrs popularly known as “Apola”, one Adeparusin Kehinde ‘m’ age 23yrs popularly known as “Kehinde Mansion” and others invaded Oke-Ola area, Osogbo during Osogbo Masqurade festival and killed one Awoniyi Kazeem ‘m’ age 25yrs and took to their heels.

The commander of the squad & his team embarks on a fact finding and indept enquiry which led to the arrest of Adeparusin Kehinde a.k.a “Kehinde Mansion” and Ariyibi Dada ‘m’ age 25yrs popularly known as “Enu-Ose” the suspected killers of Awoniyi Kareem and the following exhibits were recovered: two unregistered Qlink motorcycles and three (3) English made barreta pistols. Efforts are still in progress to arrest the fleeing suspects.”

 

 

The Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Gotan commended the officers and men of the Section for their dedication to duties and urged them to increase their tempo. He urged members of the public to assist the command with useful information that could lead to arrest of criminals in their environment.
