OSUN WEST CONSENSUS CANDIDATE:
The twelve APC Osun gubernatorial aspirants from Osun West have given a recipe for peaceful resolution of impasse going on in the Party.
APC has thrown the governorship ticket open to all zones as against the expectation that Osun West should produce the next Governor after the expiration of the tenure of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola in November this year.
This has generated a lot of controversy in the state leading to a threat by aspirants from the West to boycott APC Primaries.
Addressing Newsmen after an emergency meeting in Iwo, the aspirants said that as a way of placarding the people of the zone, the names of all the aspirants would be forwarded to the Party Authorities, for them to pick their choice as a consensus candidate, while others would give the chosen person necessary support for the general elections slated for September this year.
They said that they were ready to drop their ambitions for the stability of the party and the APC controlled government with a view to continue giving dividends of democracy to the people.
Under the new dispensation, Bisi Akande and Olagunsoye Oyinlola of the central had ruled the state for eleven and half years while Ogbeni Aregbesola will complete eight years by November this year.
As at now, APC Authorities have not responded to the demand of the aspirants.
It is widely believed by the people of Osun that Ogbeni Aregbesola is scheming to hand over to his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola from the central.
All the twelve aspirants attended the News conference including Honourable Akintayo Gafar Amere and Secretary to the state government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti.
Also at the Conference were government officials from the zone as well as prominent Party elders.
