THE Oyo State Government on Friday, February 2, 2024 suspended the Onido of Ido, Oba Gbolagade Muritala Babalola (Gbadewolu I) in Ido Local Government Area of the State.
The Government, in a letter dated 2nd of February, 2024, signed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola, indicated that Governor ‘Seyi Makinde approved the suspension on 1st of February, 2024.
This was contained in a circular signed by Sulaimon Olanrewaju
Special Adviser (Media) to Oyo State Governor available to SOJ WORLDWIDE.
The reason for the suspension was not stated in the Press Release but a source told SOJ WORLDWIDE that it has to do with illegal mining in his domain.
