Another beautiful NYSC love story!!
In November 2022, I was shortlisted for NYSC and I was posted to Keffi camp, Nasarawa State. I had lived and studied in the East, University Of Nigeria, Nsukka precisely. So obeyed the clarion call and reported to Nasarawa for NYSC.
I got to the camp and finished my registration and was posted to Platoon 6. After some days of been in the camp I started making friends and mingling with people in the camp just to make my camp experience fun. In the process, I met this sweet Yoruba guy 😍 from Ondo State and also schooled in Ondo.
We became good friends we got talking in the camp then I got to find out we were in the same platoon. We became inseparable and we’re always together.
He also started taking me to Mami to get food we became very close in camp then we shared ideas and talked about our goals after NYSC also talked about our past relationships then we learnt we were both single. We continued as friends and one fateful day in camp he asked me to be his girlfriend.
At first I refused because I have always heard that camp relationships are mostly for ‘cruise’ and I wouldn’t want to be a victim so I was scared of saying yes to his proposal but he assured me that he was genuine and had good intentions for me.
After so much conviction I accepted. We started dating in camp so after 3 weeks camp we both relocated I went to Akwa Ibom he also went to Osun state which made everything looked herculean although he kept assuring me that our relationship will continue to grow stronger that distance won’t be a barrier. So after relocating we kept talking on the phone on a daily basis.
January was my birthday he invited me to Osogbo where he was serving to celebrate my birthday from there we kept going I visited his parents he did the same to mine September 2023.
On the day of our POP – November 9th 2023, he proposed to me and I accepted. Afterwards, we fixed our Traditional Marriage on 25th of November 2023. We got married and on December 1, 2024, we welcomed a baby girl into our home.
