REPS BY-ELECTION: APC defeats PDP candidate in keenly contested election (SEE FULL RESULTS)

THE All Progressives Congress (APC? candidate, Mayokun Lawson-Alade has won the bye-election for the Akure South and Akure North House of Representatives seat.

He defeated his PDP rival Muyiwa Adu, according to unofficial results collated in the 23 wards of the two Local Governments.

According to INEC result portal, 407 of the 408 results from polling units have been uploaded.

INEC is expected to announce the official result later tonight.

The seat became vacant in August 2021, following the death of Adebayo Omolafe.
