THE General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Worldwide, Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya popularly known as Dr. D. K. Olukoya founded what is now known as the MFM in 1989 after obeying the call of God from his former Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) where he was a Pastor.
MFM started from his home with only 24 members in attendance.
The Church later moved to No. 60, Old Yaba Road, Lagos and finally moved to its permanent Headquarters on April 24, 1994.
Olukoya came from a humble background in Akure, Ondo State in the Southwest region of Nigeria.
His father was a Police Officer and a Pastor of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) while his mother was a trader.
He had his primary education at St. John’s Catholic Church Primary School, Akure and later at St. Jude’s Primary School, Ebute metta, Lagos after he relocated with his parents to Lagos. At an early age, Dr. Olukoya was a very brilliant child and always came top in his class.

He proceeded to Methodist Boys’ High School (MBHS), Broad Street, Lagos for his secondary education and this is where he encountered Christ.
In 1976, Dr. Daniel got admission into the University of Lagos and four years later he graduated with a First-Class Degree in Microbiology.
Shortly after graduating, he won a scholarship to study for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree in Molecular Genetics at the University of Reading, United Kingdom. He concluded this within a space of three years and returned to Nigeria.
Dr Olukoya whose father was a Pastor has always been from a christian background and as such grew up in the fear of the Lord.
He had the zeal to serve God and when he encountered Him in his youthful days, it propelled him into the ministry.
He also mentored under the Founder of CAC, Late Apostle Joseph Ayodele Babalola.

Pastor Olukoya is married to his lovely wife, Pastor Shade Olukoya. Her parents who were Christians were ardent members of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC). She was the fifth out of seven children. She and her Six other siblings got quality education through their father, George Adesanya who was a Marine Engineer with the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) for many years from a tender age, she developed a passion for creative arts and she proceeded to the Darnley Career Academy, London, UK, a College of Arts, Fashion and Textile design, where she obtained a Diploma in Fine Arts and Interior Decoration and a Bachelor of Arts Degree.
Mrs. Olukoya is also a dedicated and talented singer and that was how she met Dr. Olukoya during one of their Church programs.
According to Olukoya, he narrated how he met his lovely wife, Pastor Shade Olukoya and he got to know that they were born on the same date of July 15.
“I went to her and said go and pray, God said you are my wife, she took three days dry fasting to pray and after the dry fasting, she came back and said, yes, I now asked her when were you born, she mentioned the date.
I found out she was mentioning my BIRTHDAY.
Both of us were born on the same day, so we celebrate ONE BIRTHDAY”
They finally got married in 1986.
However they didn’t have a child until 2004 when they welcomed a baby boy named Elijah Toluwani Olukoya.
Elijah is currently 19 years Old.
Olukoya ministry has mentored hundreds of Pastors through Goshen Club (Ministerial Mentorship).
Throughout the events that led to the February 25, 2023 Presidential elections between top four contenders, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the APC, Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, Peter Obi of the LP and Rabiu Kwakwanso of the ANPP, he kept mute but only praying “Give us God fearing leaders”, unlike other ‘Men of God’ who came with prophesies and declaring their supports for their preferred candidates at the Altar of God.
They threw caution into the winds forgetting that not all the members of their churches belong to the same political party.
Only few people knew that Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu is a strong member of the MFM but there has never been a time Olukoya came out publicly to canvass support for him.
The only time when one suspect that Sanwo-Olu is a member of the Church was when he testified to the goodness of God when he won the election in his first term.
That, Sanwo-Olu renounced the appellation of ‘His Excellency’ on assumption of office put paid to his foundation in Christ.
As Dr. D.K. Olukoya and Pastor (Mrs) Shade Olukoya celebrate their birthdays on July 15, 2023, SOJ WORLDWIDE ONLINE NEWS pray that as they have started well together they shall end well together, in Jesus name.
