FORMER Vice Presidential Candidate in the 2019 general elections, Dr. (Prince) Adeleke Adesoji Masilo has berated one faceless individual identified as Real Adesina who was paid to undermine the influence of Baba Akande and his daughter, Dr. Temitope Ilori, over her appointment as the Director-General of the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA).
Masilo who is a bonafide Prince from Obalogbo’s Compound, Okomo Ruling House, Ila Orangun and Current Chairman BOOT Party, Osun State said he is not a member of the APC said,
“It is important to recall that Baba Akande was SSG to Late Chief Ajibola Ige and later became Deputy Governor of Old Oyo State.
Baba Akande is a former Governor of Osun State and a former Interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC— a respected elder statesman whose contributions to the growth and stability of his party, APC remain indelible.
It is, therefore, disappointing to see a mere social media enthusiast attempt to malign a man of such repute, all in the name of political loyalty and the gubernatorial ambition of his so-called candidate.
It pleased President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint Dr. Ilori, and such an appointment has nothing to do with her level of participation in Osun APC.
I call on all Osun residents to accord Baba Akande, Dr. Ilori, and their family the utmost respect they deserve.
Finally, I will advise Real Adesina and his co-travellers to desist from further acts capable of causing division in the political space.”
The Pioneer Chairman of Osun State Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Masilo went further,
“I am not an APC member, but I know the politics of Osun State. Dr. Temitope Akande Ilori is a bonafide daughter of Chief Adebisi Akande, and she’s actively involved in politics in the politics of Isedo 1, Ward 04, Unit 12 in Ila Local Government, Ila Orangun.
She’s a grassroots politician who deserves recognition for her efforts.”
He highlighted Dr. Ilori’s grassroots credentials, citing her active involvement in Osun politics and her reputation as a dedicated APC member. Masilo emphasized that her appointment was a testament to her qualifications and the President’s confidence in her abilities.
He urged politicians to respect Baba Akande, Dr. Ilori, and their family, and to focus on promoting good governance in Osun State and Nigeria in general instead of promoting politics of hatred and division.
