Some thugs suspected to be loyal to the incumbent Chairman of Oriade Local Government Chairman, Hon Bunmi Obiesun attacked a Councillorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 11 of Oriade LGA, Hon Awoyemi Olayinka Rafael popularly known as The Nation at a burial ceremony of Hon Sola Adewumi’s in-law on Saturday.

The incident occurred at the Ijebu-Jesa area of Oriade LGA.
A source who want to be anonymous told SOJ WORLDWIDE ONLINE NEWS said the hoodlum who is a loyalist of APC incumbent Local Government Chairman, came to challenge Olayinka on his way when he wanted to go and get an envelope.
“The APC thug claimed to be APC Oriade Youth Leader came and began harassing the ward 11 councillorship aspirant because he did not support Hon. Bunmi Obeisun.

The Local Youth Leader politically known as Wale Elewa assaulted him and cut him with cutlass on his right eyes side,” the source said.
Some political leaders, who was also at the scene, confirmed the attack they added.
All efforts to reach Wale Elewa on phone to hear own side of the incident proved abortive abortive as at time of this publication.
His line was unreachable at a time, it later rang but he did not pick.
